New comments and replies on your projects reach you two ways: the bell in the dashboard’s sidebar, and email once a round of comments has gone quiet. Both are per person: what you have read, and whether you get email, is yours alone.
Watch the bell
Notifications, in the sidebar under Settings, counts what you have not read yet across your projects. On the projects page, each card shows its own count as N new, beside its open comments: an open comment you have already seen is not news.
Open what is new
Click the bell. The panel has one block per project with something unread, and its news grouped by who wrote it, like “Ben and Clara added 3 comments”. Open a group to see each comment and reply, then choose one: the panel closes, the comment opens in its drawer, and it is marked read.
Get it by email
In Settings, Notifications, each project you are on has an Email me about switch. Turn it on to get the project’s emails.
When the counts change
The bell’s count follows the project you have open as it changes. It also updates when you come back to the dashboard’s tab, and every five minutes for your other projects. What you have read follows your account, so a second computer does not show everything as new again.
A comment is marked read when you choose it in the panel, and when you open it from the Comments tab; opening a comment reads its replies’ notifications too.
Mark a project read
Mark as read, in a project’s block, marks everything the panel shows for that project as read. Anything that arrives after stays unread.
Owners and admins also get a notification when a workflow pauses because its endpoint keeps failing. Choosing it opens the workflow, where you can resume it. See Workflows.
Emails come from the project’s workflows, once a round of review has gone quiet, and never about your own comments. Every project starts with a workflow named Email digest: 15 minutes after the last comment, one email for the whole round to the project’s owners and admins, and the workspace’s. Owners and admins can change who it emails, turn it off, or add other workflows.
The Email me about switch in Settings, Notifications is yours alone, and every workflow email to you follows it. Everyone chooses for themselves.
If the mail provider refuses to deliver to your address several times, the switch shows Paused. Press Resume to try again.
Unsubscribe
Every email has an unsubscribe link. It opens a page that asks before it acts: press Unsubscribe to stop that project’s emails. It works without signing in, and other projects are not affected. Turn them back on with the switch in Settings.
